While the speculation about the purge of Jang Song Thaek is growing over, NKSIS independently confirmed the details about the purge and what exactly lies behind the scenes from the inner source on December 5. The key points are that the final decision of Jang Song Thaek’s ouster was made by Kim Jong Un and Jang’s wife Kim Kyung Hui, and that Kim Jong Un’s brother Kim Jeong Cheol played the main “villain” to arrest and execute Lee Yong Ha, first deputy of the administration, and Jang Soo Keel, deputy of the administration, through military trials, seen as a cut-off of Jang's “two hands.” In other words, Jang was chosen as a prey to keep 'Kim dynasty regime’ by his wife and nephew.
Media worldwide and many believed that Jang Song Thaek lost the power struggle against Choe Ryong-hae or was ousted in conflict with the moderates and the radicals in North Korea, but it was confirmed not true.
What has kept the country in the Kim dynasty (one dictator system), ruling to a third generation from Kim Il Sung to Kim Jong Un, is not a sectarian or political competence of partisan organizations but “jus sanguinis”. People of Kim Il Sung's “Mangyondae“ lineage (can be likened “Sung Gol”) or the anti-Japanese guerrillas who inherited the blood of three Baekdu revolutionary lineage (Jin Gol) are destined to be rightful highest-ranking executives of the state. This is the key personnel policy of Kim Il Sung’s succession theory under the monolithic leadership.
Despite the possession of the lineage to Kim Il Sung, Kim Seol Song (Kim Jong Il's eldest daughter and Kim Jung Un’s half-sister) and Kim Jong Chol (Kim Jong-un’s elder brother), inevitably stand in the position of the country’s core composition 'leader and warrior' after all. In this system of “Kim dynasty” with Kim Jong-un’s succession, it is impossible for Jang Song Thaek, who are not either Jin Gol or Sung Gol, to be the second most powerful man in the country simply because he is the Great Princess Kim Kyung Hui's husband. North Korea sent a chilling message from this incident at home and abroad that “North Korea’s monolithic leadership” does not allow to let second-in-command be.
NKSIS independently confirmed that Jang Song Thaek’s purge was made thoroughly by the Kim family and by Kim Il Sung’s will. In this situation, there would be no one but Kim Jong Chol to dismiss figuratively abdicated king Jang Song Thaek. In other word, Kim Jong Chol is the one who spearheaded the whole process from arrestment of Lee Yong Ha, first deputy of the administration, and Jang Soo Keel, deputy of the administration, to execution.
Having Held a pistol himself, Kim Jong Chol, proceeding with the agents of Presidential Security Command(the Kim Jong Un’s bodyguards) and National Security Agency, arrested and executed Jang’s close allies including Lee Yong Ha and Jang Soo Keel. Last May, a Chinese weekly magazine once reported that Kim Jong Chol acts as “Bong Hwa” Squad commander who is a key figure in assisting Kim Jung Un.
It is still debatable whether Jang’s removal from power for the continuancy of the system in North Korea will work as a positive move(long-term maintenance) or a negative move. NKSIS' senior representative estimates that deterioration of Kim Kyung Hui’s health has brought the time of the purge to a head.
