While people are wondering if the news that North Korea is getting ready for total revolution and opening till the year 2019 is true or not, the behind story has been trace by the newspaper.
Last April 24th, our newspaper in charge of North Korea’s high-ranking officials said that “North Korea is trying to get ready for total revolution and opening till the year 2019,” and “Under Jung Eun Kim’s orders, his secretariat office is forming a concrete roadmap for total revolution and opening.” What’s surprising is that this is contradictory to Jeong Il Kim’s pessimism towards total revolution and opening that he mentioned in his testament that he left for Kyunghee Kim.
Other trustworthy newspapers in charge of high-raking North Korean officials mentioned that Kim Jung Eun’s private secretariat office has started forming specific roadmap for total revolution and opening. As a result, Kim Jeong Il’s secretariat, in charge of economics, has been given a task to put together China’s economic revolution and opening that has been researched since before Jeong Il Kim’s death. What is more surprising is that even ‘agrarian reform’ issues such as North Korea’s imperfect privatization of farmland and long-term rental problems are being dealt.
Also, the military secretariat has been given the task of designing a successful military strategy that could bring about highest military action and training results with the least cost. The secretariat in charge of South Korea has been given the duty of filing a specific report on South Korea’s economic support and negotiation possibilities as soon as possible.
These kinds of actions heard from our high quality information are noteworthy, because it came out whilst North Korea launching long-range missile despite international community’s opposition, which resulted in failure, and continual threats toward South Korea. In addition, it’s been analyzed that the South Korean government should take more interest in this issue since other foreign medias have been releasing North Korea’s economic opening possibilities little by little.
Kim Jung Eun’s willingness to open up as soon as possible is quite firm. It’s been said that under Kim’s handwritten orders, workers relating to such fields are researching successful and unsuccessful revolution and opening cases in Asia's developing countries such as China, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam and even searching for alternatives.
North Korea's economic openness will not happen all of a sudden but these news can be interpreted as indirectly telling us that the North's economic situation is very difficult. Even if North Korea will radically pursue such policy, it will have to understand the essence of such policy thoroughly. In other words, even though the possibility of North Korea's revolution and opening up might be successful, it is quite certain that the policy is not focused on helping the lower class but rather on keeping the interest of the top class, thus its double-sidedness must be thought over.
